About me
Background
From an early age I have been interested in business, especially international commerce and fashion.
I am number 3 of 5 children from a “working class” family. Opportunities were scarce in my hometown. I admire entrepreneurs and I have a genuine desire to help, finding solutions is my second nature.
First chances
As I watched the container ships arriving at Bilbao port, I imagined what goods they were carrying… Little I knew a ship will take me to the UK.
20 years ago, I arrived with a pocket full of dreams and 100 euros. In my early days, my work experience was mostly based on opportunities and chances. Nothing too memorable until…after working in a variety of roles trying to improve my communication skills, I came across a thriving ecommerce business in Portsmouth: Wiggle.
Then I found my passion, ecommerce!
It was a young and entrepreneurial business were opportunities were given and paid later. I moved up the ranks from Customer Service, Operations to Finance and IT. Core departments in every organisation! I learnt the basis on leadership skills, continuous improvement, budgeting, commercial awareness, and the list goes on...
I was bitten by the Technology bug, I was so eager to learn… I consider myself lucky to have been working with the best from the industry, colleagues that went to lead other organisations and to enrich the industry.
Don't stop dreaming
In 2015 I was headhunted by a small fashion retailer firm, the last 7 years have been a ride of emotions professionally and on a personal level. From business change to digital transformation and operations, I have done it all, including managing a data breach or a platform migration during Covid! I also made a human during this time, what a legacy!
My present
Fast forward to 2025 and I am working for a thriving business: Mint Velvet, a brilliant brand with a genuinely caring team that nurtures talent, I am so lucky to be here. Not to mention the great fashion! To be continued...
